gee i do not. Because maybe you do not want just anybody to be nurse.
They do not want child molesters in a posistion That Would requirea nurse to see the naked child in a closed room maybe?
To make sure You Have Committed a Crime! As a nurse, it Would be good to be Able to Understand Basic Things like that. . .
Would you want to know That the person is caring for you That Did not just get out of prison for murder. . . And There Are Those That sick people out there are ‘angels of death’ The People That Kill Their Patients silently. . Some of Those psychos although slip Through the cracks dog. . backgrounds checks Some Of Them Might weed out. . Hopefully. . . . But I do think Some Of The Things They stop you from Being a nurse are ridiculous. . Like if you did something like 15 years prior That Was not that bad and They Will not give you your license. . Anyway. . I think all the background checks Have states. . . I know Iowa does. . or maybe it’s just states have four letters That in Them. . lol
I believe That all state boards of nursing require a criminal background check for nurses (if They Should not). I think the reason why Should Be Obvious to you. You are Entrusted With people’s lives every day and RN’s are a lot of Autonomy Given. How many news stories have you read about old nurse mercy killers killing people, Usually They Kill People Before They Get multiple caught. If you’ve been Convicted or murder, homicide, rape, pedophilia, the Board of Nursing Would like to know ahead of time INSTEAD of patient’s lives After Have Been endangered. Then There’s the drug issue. If You have a conviction for drug sale or use illegal drugs and illegal use of prescription or jobs, They Do not want you working as an RN. Again, You have a lot of access to large Autonomy and Amounts of narcotics. Again, you’ve Probably Heard of nurses Who Were Caught Stealing drugs from the Pyxis or med cart, or Who Gave Their nurses and stole Their Patients saline morphine, Letting Their Patients writhe in pain So They Can Get high. So if You have a drug conviction, or Have Been Convicted of theft, embezzlement or burglery, May you steal drugs for your own use or for resale to make money. The BON Needs to know this. Howeve, if You have a youthful crime or misdemeanor for something They deem not as petty theft Such Serious or joyriding in a car as a teen, the May make an exception BON But You Must Disclose to Them Before you even bother Because Applying for nursing school Would you want to get all the way Through It and Then Have Your application for a nursing license denied. All nurses must-complete fingerprinting When They fill out Their Applications, I did mine-through Live Scan and They Were Sent Electronically. If You have a record, Then They Will find it best to Disclose so ahead of time. Some Employers Also do a credit check and personal reference for the Same reason – if you are irresponsible and desperate for cash, They May Consider A Risk you as well. To make sure you are not a murderer or other type of sicko Some. There Have Been Some Where There Were Many instances doctors or nurses Who Had some issues and ended up Serious killing the Patients just out of the pure pleasure of killing someone.
